Mixing and Mastering Services
Tired of all those AI mastering services that sound like trash, but don't have $200 to throw at a Grammy award-winning engineer? No sweat. For the small price $25, I'll fix that for you!
No, I'm not selling you a cookie-cutter course, and I won't sucker you into a suite of sponsored plugins or e-books that you'll never read. That takes time. Time is money.
What I am offering is personalized mixing and mastering, something that these days is in short supply. At least on a budget.
My Specialties: Hip-Hop, Heavy Metal, House, Drum & Bass. I also do Nu Jack Swing, Eurodance, Filmscore, and Classical. If you have something outside my usual gig, it doesn't mean I won't be able to mix/master it. I'll just have to do a little research!
Here's some of my work.
If you're interested in sounding like that, keep reading.
Requirements: I can work with just about anything as far as stems, even mp3s, but for highest possible quality without stemming everything out, wav is king!
This vocal was mixed over a mastered MP3 I had from 2020. It can be done. It's not ideal, but it is possible. The results depend on the quality of the beat and the vocals themselves.
File Prep:
For single files, make sure your song is not clipping. Leave 3 to 6 dB of headroom for me to work with. If you don't know what that is, just send me stems instead.
No FX on the master channel, please, unless it's absolutely necessary for transitions, like a bitcrush or something.
Unless your genre is known for shoegaze, the less reverb, particularly in the low ranges, the better. When I compress your song, all this noise will come out of the depths and swallow your bass to low-mid range.
For stems, the less defects in your audio, the better.
I can fix SOME clipping, but I can't turn severely clipped audio to calm waters. The same goes for severe room, white noise, plosives, mic scrubbing, pops and clicks.
Nearly all noise removal is destructive in nature, and processing without cutting your sound to the bone is a delicate balance. Good, clean recordings make things much easier.
I always say NOT to remove noise yourself.
It's much easier to just have your mix engineer (me) remove it for you. 9 times out of 10, damage done by noise reduction can't be fixed once it gets to my inbox. If you do remove your own noise, I strongly urge you to save a copy of your file beforehand. We want you to sound CLEAN, not sterile.
Make sure everything is clearly marked.
Don't be like past-me and export everything as Track 72 - Acoustic Piano, when it's really a dubstep wobble. I'll have to rename all of them, and that's a pain.
For best results, stem out each individual parts.
Instead of exporting an entire drum bus and send FX together, stem them out separately: the overheads, the snare, the kick, the toms, and so on. I'll handle the rest.
FX is fine, but dry is a huge bonus.
This is especially for vocals and guitars; sometimes we add too much EQ and it takes AWAY from a sound rather than enhancing it, or an amp just isn't fitting in the mix, and you want to know why.
If you want me to do FX for you entirely, I'll definitely need separated dry tracks, as well as your wet tracks for reference.
Other file types and DAWs
For Mixcraft users, I can use your project files. Just export the project folder. For other DAWs, if you think I could use your midi or something, throw that in too!
Refunds and Revisions
If I'm not satisfied that I can deliver an excellent result for you, it's your money back. If YOU'RE not satisfied, we'll get to work on some revisions! Bottom line, I'll get the job done. I want the best product possible for you, so that when and if I go in those Spotify mastering credits, I'm PROUD of it!
Please allow 5 to 10 business days for delivery, and specify your preferred file type!
